About

Hi! I am Stephanie Longyear. I have been married to my husband Scot since 1989 and we have two (mostly) wonderful girls, Mariah (age 14) and Madison (age 9). Once upon a time I was a nurse, but since having my second child I have been a stay-at-home mom. I keep busy with my kids and their activities, my husband’s demanding job as the Senior Pastor of Exchange, my role in Chix, oh, and travel planning.

I love to travel. I love to plan travel. I enjoy planning for a trip as much as I do taking it. I can’t end a trip unless I have at least one more trip on the horizon. I am the one my friends call when they are planning a trip.  I am a budget traveler and get the most vacation for my money.  I love to travel with my kids and without my kids. I love cruising, the beach, the mountains, snorkeling, Disney and everything in between. I planned and booked an entire summer in Australia for my family without the use of a travel agent. I am obsessed with travel. There I said it. I feel better know.

Where does this obsession come from? Scot and I joke that it is a result of a really bad honeymoon trip. We honeymooned in a resort in the Pocono Mountains in the winter. While we enjoyed each others company, the place was a dump. I have spent the rest of our married life trying to make up for that one bad trip.

My obsession has taken me all over the world.  I have 4-wheeled in Oahu, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, swam with sting rays in the Caribbean, toured cathedrals in Spain, and had a hundred other great adventures. Scot and I share a passion for discovering new places. We love exploring diverse cultures and broadening our perspective. We have learned so much from the people we have encountered along the way.

This blog is a place for me to share my travel plans for upcoming trips, my travel planning tips, tools, trip reports, and photos. It also serves as a place to network with fellow travelers.
